Ceylan Aran was born in Istanbul, 1986. She graduated from Pantomime Department of Istanbul University State Conservatory. During college years, she was a part of Anatole Street Players as a performing artist. She worked in TRT Çocuk. Aran graduated from Art & Design Department of Yeditepe University in 2012. In her third year, she went to University degli Studi di Genova to study Product Design. After graduation she started working for Gittigidiyor.com and then İletişim İşleri, Communication Agency as a graphic designer and illustrator. To develop storytelling skills she moved to Macerata, Italy to get her master’s degree in Editorial Illustration at Ars In Fabula, Picture Book Academy. She had the opportunity to study on her projects with Mauro Evangelista, Pablo Auladell, Fabian Negrin, Joanna Concejo, Luca Tortelini, Fausta Orecchio, Ivan Canu, Corrado Rabbiti. During her masters education, she started to make book illustrations, cover designs and book translations from Italian to Turkish for children and young adult readers. In 2017 she moved to Milan and started working in American Coffee Company as a brand designer. She still lives in Milan and works as a freelancer. Publishers she has worked with are Rizzoli Education, Mavibulut Yayıncılık, Çınar Yayınları, Redhouse Kidz, Günışığı Kitaplığı, Kelime Yayınları, Doğan Egmont, Aylak Adam Yayınları.
