FarukDuman_FOTO_SIYAHBEYAZDuman was born in 1974 in Ardahan / Turkey. He studied Languange and History Geography, graduated from the field of librarianship and worked as a librarian for a while.

From 1991 onwards his short stories were published in many magazines. His first book Seslerde Başka Sesler was published 1997 by Can Publishing. In 2000 he won the Sait Faik Award with his book Av Dönüşleri, in 2004 the Haldun Taner Short Story Award for Keder Atlısı, in 2011 the Memet Fuat Essay Award for Adasız Deniz and in the same year the Yunus Nadi Novel Award for İncir Tarihi.

He currently Works as an editor for Can Publishing.
