YEKTA KOPAN

Yekta Kopan was born in 1968. He majored in Business at Hacettepe University. His book Recipes Of Loneliness From The Kitchen of Love (2002) received the 2002 Sait Faik Short Story Award and Carbon Copy won the 2007 Dünya Kitap Book of the Year Award. His book The Loss of You has been awarded the 2010 Yunus Nadi Short Story Award and the 2010 Haldun Taner Short Story Award. He has also created works for children with his children’s books produced the books for children with his play called The Nose, The Nose on Vacation, Song of the Neighborhood, Long Huge Plenty as well as his children’s play The Restaurant in the Forest.

He edited Silk Handkerchief, a dictionary study on the history of the Turkish short story. His books and short stories have been translated into several languages including English, German, Italian, Japanese, Persian and Arabic.
