Gözde Kurt was born in Istanbul. She started to write poems and stories in her early school years. The first novel, The Hesitation of Cocoon (Kozanın Tereddütü), was published in 2009. Her story book, Dead Flowers Museum (Ölü Çiçekler Müzesi), received a degree in 2001 Yaşar Nabi Ayır Award. Then three years’ journey began- Latin America, Cuba, and European countries, she then returned to write a novel called Standing on the Bridge, I’ll Wait His Kiss (Köprüde Durup Beni Öpmesini Bekleyeceğim). Gözde Kurt, who continued her life as a translator, studies English Language and Literature at Istanbul University.
