Serpilhan Kanıbol was born in Tokat. She started her higher education at Trakya University in 2006, and later studied tv, radio and cinema studies at Konya Selçuk University, Faculty of Communications. Since 2006, she has written scripts for tv series, film, television films, documentaries and tv advertisement, as well as two radio plays and three theatre plays. She has worked for national and international companies as an ad-texter and screen-writer. Rain Tree, a play she wrote in 2008, was staged by the Istanbul State Theatre for its 60th anniversary. After she wrote the script for the fantasy series Gaia, she started to write the Gaia-volumes for the Gaia – Uran book series. Kanıbol continues to work for one of the most important media companies.
