Tarık Buğra
Tarık Buğra (1918,Konya- 1994,İstanbul) started his writing career with poems and short stories in high school years. Then he wrote in several newspapers and magazines and worked as editor-in-chief. After he left journalism in 1976, he devoted himself to literature. Beside his stories, he wrote many novels some of which had prizes, essays, travel notes and plays. In his writings, he handles themes like love, loneliness and unconformity with an intense and poetic language. Almost all of his plays were performed in theaters and his novels were made TV series. In 1991 he received the ‘State Artist’ title.
